Mini Review: The Darkest Part of the Forest by Holly Black

Having just finished this books moments ago, I can say while I’m high off the emotions of the final pages, I adored this book. Everything about it was completely satisfying. Holly Black has a beautiful writing style that can make even a normal world feel a little haunting. She spins a tale based on the faerie folklore I love, but makes it feel fresh and modern while never losing the sinister wildness of those stories. Also, it’s so lovely to read a standalone novel. While the book market is flooded with series upon series, do yourself a favor, take a break from all of those, and read this gorgeous book. If you keep an open mind, it will enchant you into the night and maybe bring back a bit of childhood wonder.
