Book Talk: A Bookish Tattoo?

Book Talk: A Bookish Tattoo?

Hey everyone! Happy Spring! I love the springtime. It’s my 2nd favorite season!

Well, this isn’t a review. But I figure that I want this to just be a place where people who love books can talk and vent. And share ideas related to books!

So, today I am sharing some of my obsession over tattoos. I actually just got my first tattoo last Wednesday! Its a Camellia flower, which are my favorite. And I already want another! I love the customization and heart that goes into a tattoo. It’s a personal way to make something you love a part of you. If you want to check out some of my favorite tattoos, you can follow my Pinterest board Get Inked. It’s where I share all the quotes, pictures, and ideas I would love to have on my body. I have over 450 pins, becasue I am a crazy person, and I can’t make decisions. Which explains why I just got my first! I want them all, but can never decide on placement or exactly how I want it to look. And I am no artist. So I can’t sketch out my own design either. The struggles of the artistically challenged…

Anyway, I wanted to post a few of the things I have been pondering over. Here are a couple of the word options

“We lose ourselves in books, we find ourselves there too.”

“One must always be careful of books and what is inside them, for words have the power to change us.” – Tessa Gray (Clockwork Angel)

I’m leaning toward the second option. Partly becasue I adore the Infernal Devices trilogy and partly becasue this quote is so real and true.

Now, should I get just the words? The words in the spines of a stack of books? The words on an open book page?

I can’t decide!

If you guys have any ideas to share with me, I would love it! And if there are any artists out there looking for a project, wanna design a tattoo for me? šŸ™‚

Thanks for reading! Hope everyone has a happy Sunday!

Cheers!

  1. I love the second quote. Not only because it’s Cassandra Clare but because it’s true! So many books have changed the way I think or feel about things in life!

I have two book tattoos of my own! I have the French quote that’s on the necklace Bella gives to Renesmee in ‘Breaking Dawn’, “Plus Que Ma Propre Vie”, and the three birds Tris gets in Divergent!

    1. That is so awesome!! I’ve thought about getting a Twilight tattoo myself! It was one of my first major fandoms, and I still hold it close to my heart. And I love those birds šŸ™‚
Thanks for your input! I’m thinking the second quote too, since it’s so true and Cassandra is basically the queen. Now to decide on font…
